Mediterranean Villas

Rebuild of nine small, collapsing houses, including the restoration of existing landscapes. New load-bearing stone walls replace frittered concrete and infill.

The inertia of the stone creates comfortable climatic environments, especially for the summer, while bioclimatic strategies like shading and natural ventilation remove the need for mechanical systems other than minimal heating for the winter. While respecting the existing footprints, the villas are augmented by terraces and protected courtyards for year-round, seasonal living.
