The VER house sits on a slope of the Luberon valley, a protected site with grapevines and the ruins of a former hamlet. The house is designed to blend into this historic site and its particular climate, hot in the summer and with cold northern winds in winter.
The house is conceived to be relatively autonomous in terms of energy consumption. The main ecological features include: a protected courtyard facing south; sliding wooden blinds to protect the interiors from the sun and dominant winter winds; rainwater recycling; solar panels; and the reutilisation of materials from the site, notably stone from the existing ruins.

La maison VER est située sur les pentes d'une vallée du parc naturel du Lubéron, sur un site protégé avec des ruines et des vignes. La maison s'intègre dans ce paysage historique, selon le climat particulier, chaud en été et froid en hiver par les vents du nord.
La maison est voulue autonome en matière énergétique avec : une orientation vers le sud ; des persiennes en bois protège du soleil et des vents dominants ; la récupération d’eau de pluie ; l'installation de panneaux solaires ; et la réutilisation de matériaux du site, dont la pierre des murs existants.
